We also have put in a major effort to get plone.com finished and released. I encourage you to have a look - it's a beautiful site that highlights the reasons why Plone is such a wonderful CMS and platform.
Plone.com and other efforts (coding and non-coding) are done by volunteers.
Please volunteer, especially if there is something you feel isn't being done or isn't being done quickly enough! Or sponsor the Foundation so that we can support sprints to make those things happen.
Plone is not corporate controlware: we depend on volunteers and benevolent leadership in teams. This requires agreement and gentle coordination, which takes time but, we think, results in a healthy, vibrant community and a top notch product.

We are all looking forward to the release! One way to help would be to sponsor the Foundation at plone.org/donate ;)
