I totally agree with Kim here on both his points.

Marketing is a soft skill that doesn't get a lot of focus that I can 
see, so it may be a shame that your idea was not acted on.
However, you unfortunately come across as having a bit of wounded pride 
at that.  Note that marketing is an area where people
are quite sensitive about because a lot of people's livelihoods depends 
on how Plone presents itself.  Yours obviously doesn't
at the moment, but you seem not to care about the companies & people for 
whom it does.
So, sorry, but I would not trust someone to steer that area who comes 
out with the kind of statements that you have over the
last week.

Plone shouldn't be above criticism - we need rather to face it head on, 
but that doesn't mean you should be free to rant mindlessly.

As someone working solo as a Plone Consultant, and not able to give much 
time, I /really /appreciate /any//one/
who steps up and volunteers - not just with ideas, but with time and 
energy with which they do stuff.
My appreciation includes all those in key jobs that I know about (and 
I'm not one of them in case you wondered).

Plone has, I understand been set up as a Do-ocracy - which I'm sure has 
flaws, but I'm grateful that it motivates
people to make progress (even if it's slower than we like).

Plone is also a community where relationships are important - you can't 
just force your ideas through by strength
of argument, or being the best, you also have to win people over by good 
communication (including a fair proportion
of listening).


I hope you can see some sense in what I say,
