It would be quite nice if the workflow mechanism could the job.

I get a mail when a site is submitted. I'm actually not sure any more
why I get a mail or who else does :-p

I should be able to see "pending" content, but it doesn't look like a
review portlet is available. It also doesn't look like I have a member
space where I can add a collection to show "pending" content.

So all editors *should* be able to see "pending" content. When any of
us start to edit something, someone else should see "this item has
been locked by ...", so that we don't step on each other's edits. Or
the checkin/checkout functionality should be enabled.

A perfectly natural place for conversation about a submission is via
comments on the submission, rather than an issue tracker. At the
moment this is sub-optimal in that comments hang around in public
(that's https://dev.plone.org/plone/ticket/11652 ).

If we really want to assign someone to a specific submission, we could
create a tracker issue. But I think being notified of new submissions,
and seeing a list of "pending" submissions, should be sufficient.

After editing, I tend to bump the submission back to the author for
approval, with a workflow comment (via the cumbersome "advanced"
workflow form -- it should be easier to add a transition comment, and
it should absolutely be easier to see transition comments ... the
"history" link has been broken for at least 5 months
http://dev.plone.org/plone/ticket/11563 ). Since workflow commenting
is mostly broken at the moment, I may also add a comment to the
document to be sure that the author sees it.

Good to have some conversation about this :-)
