At the Stroopwafel sprint earlier this month, which focused on documentation, most of the stuff in the old 'knowledgebase' was found to be so horribly inaccurate, out of date and misleading, that the whole section was taken offline for now. There undoubtedly are some useful snippets in there somewhere. This might be one of them, in which case it should find it's way into the new docs. (Although more useful Stackoverflow answers are available.) But most of the content was taken offline because it was just such a mess. Work continues on the new documentation, there will be a bigger sprint on it in Munich in march this year.
