Greetings Timo, I would consider using SilvaNews instead of plain Silva Documents. Each seminar would be an Agenda Item (which has a start and end time, and a publication time), and you can use an agenda viewer to display the seminars. Since SilvaNews Agenda Items have a start date and time, you can code something up easily to retrieve the next seminar and email the members of the institute (which is probably a mailing list?). You could schedule this using cron or something. The stock agenda viewer doesn't display agenda items like your page. You could, however, code up a new viewer that mimics the page you have.
