  Hm, as I understand You do have neither the resources nor the pressing need
to set up a (public/shared) repository for development either yet -- same
for me here; most of the time my local CVS if good enough for me (though
I cannot offer public read access - it is just a dial up home box for now).

  So how do we coordinate? Are we going to send patches around, or should
we just develop independently, trying to merge later if something useful
is the outcome on either side?

  What I could do on short term is to release a 0.1.2-version of my ReferenceChecker
which does no longer use monkeys but some adapter style to get the references;
that change is hanging around for quite a while in my local development. I did
not release it as I have considered as a minor improvement with no end-user
impact. However it would maybe make a goot starting point for a branch off
for either integrating LMS or add more "reference-management-style" features.
  Looking back considering what I managed to do last week I guess "short term" means
somewhen in may ...
  Any interest?
  Or should I just go ahead and create e.g. a berlios project instead?
