We've just released FileSystemSite 2.0 alpha, an early prerelease that 
backports code from CMFCore-1.6 to fix some issues with FileSystemSite 
and Zope-2.8.x. Please consider upgrading FileSystemSite if you are 
experiencing ZODB conflicts and considerable performance losses when 
working with Silva and Zope 2.8.x
