Yes, you can do that already. The only thing you would need to adjust is 
the ZMailman object to show only Mailing Lists that belong to a certain 
client. But all other security can be done via the Zope roles.

MM 3.0 is vaporware... but we started designing it.

You will see that ZMailman is easy to understand and you will be able to 
make the required changes quickly.
