Failover clustering of storage servers

Hello, I have a question about failover klustering of storage servers with Directory Storage. We have recently started to investigate the possiblity of using DirStroage as a component in failover clustering. The idea is that we have two machines, one master and one slave both with directory storage. The master is repliciated to the slave, say once every minute. The slave runs a heartbeat-script (essentially a ZEO-client script) that chekcs if the master is running. If not it shuts down the master and reconfigures itself to take over the masters identity. By some undefined magic, all zope-clients get restarted in order to re-establish connection with the ZEO-server. At most we loose aprox. one minutes data. Does this sound like something that can be done with directory storage? Has anybody done something similar to this?
