That explains the backup snapshot problem too. Those tools use http (via the 
zeo clients) to get the storage into snapshot mode. If the zeo clients are 
disconnected then the lock file is exactly what I expect to see.

That scenario was tested briefly, before the release of 1.0. Ive just 
re-reviewed the enter/leave snapshot code and it looks fine.

Ive never tested this with zeo. Ive not even personally run the current 
version of zeo! This wont be anywhere near the top of my todo list for the 
forseeable future :-(

Maybe you already know this, but reiser3 uses a different block allocation 
policy if more than 90% full. I suspect (but havent tested) that this will 
affect performance.
