OK, I was hoping that (being smarter than me) you'd see a way to
get the software to make a more specific suggestion, but I guess
it's just not possible. Your new error message is an improvement.
Might I suggest a further clarification:
raise DirectoryStorageError('Could not lock storage directory. Check
comments in snapshot.py source code for fault-finding suggestions')
That removes an ambiguity: if I saw your message for the
first time, I might reasonably assume I'm supposed to *run* snapshot.py
to get these "fault-finding suggestions", and then I'd wonder
with what options, etc. It's pretty unusual for a program to suggest
to its users "Hey, you should read my source code!" ... so I figure it
can't hurt to be very explicit about that.
