I've got a biggish (4 GB) Zope 2.7 datastore in DirectoryStorage, and the reason you never hear from me on the list is that it Just Works. It's the replication feature of DirectoryStorage that finally got Zope past the IT gatekeepers in my company. (It also gives me peace of mind, though in two years I have never had to restore a backup.) Thanks.
