I think, many things are possible indeed with ZODB. As soon as it is 
performant and scalable. Often ORMs are used where ZODB is a better choice. 
Or ZODB (maybe through ZeroDB) could be a good fit in a brave new world of 
decentralized applications?

Best way to help would be to get involved into open source community, 
contribute to core code, write applications on top of ZeroDB, wrappers for 
non-python languages, or simply bring ideas.
