IMO, file storage data files are suitable for backup.

An alternative is to use ZRS, which essentially gives you real-time backups.

Heh, I've dealt with lots of unidentified data over the years.

I try to hang out on the #zodb IRC channel on freenode (although
sometimes I forget). There aren't a lot of people there, but there are
some knowledgeable folks there.  Asking questions in real time can
often help.

I should really start a slack or giter channel.
