I gave a talk about the status of ZODB at the Plone conference last week.
My slides are here:

  http://j1m.me/plone16

Some important takeaways:

- Lot's of improvements to ZODB and ZEO.

- ZeroDB has shifted focus to their Hadoop product so I'm available to help
folks with their ZODB projects. :)

- I announced the byteserver, https://github.com/jimfulton/byteserver

This is in an early stage of development, but it's far enough along to do
some performance evaluation.

  I wrote up a summary:

    https://github.com/jimfulton/byteserver/wiki/performance-2016-10-26

Thanks mostly to being written in Rust, the byteserver is far more
scalable than existing ZEO servers.

I plan to finish the byteserver over the coming weeks.
