server running as slave: it was using 1GB, now it's using 170MB.

it could take several days or even weeks to achieve those high values.

HV> yes, I'm packing bot; but I'm only doing garbage collection in one; 
the other is the one I had problems with packing until somebody here 
suggested me to skip garbage collection.

I'm packing right now all databases to see if that's the case.
