I am pleased to announce a new tool for curating Python talks and videos. You can try it out at PythonLinks.info <http://pythonlinks.info/>. But first read this introduction. There are so many videos on the web, but which are the good ones? What is needed is a voting system to rate the videos. And a way to chat with other people about the talk, either during the conference, or when the list of the top 10 videos is released on reddit.com <http://reddit.com/> PythonLinks.info <http://pythonlinks.info/> is designed as a tree of categories containing talks. It is built using the ZODB, Emitter.io <http://emitter.io/> and Cromlech. ZODB is a tree of objects. Emitter.io <http://emitter.io/> is a pub/sub tree of topics speaking the MQTT.org <http://mqtt.org/> protocol. Cromlech is a brilliant reincarnation of Grok. https://github.com/Cromlech <https://github.com/Cromlech> PythonLinks.info <http://pythonlinks.info/> lets you vote thumbs up or thumbs down on each talk. Each talk has a chat room. You can browse the tree by swiping left, right, up or down. The arrows tell you which way to go. You can search the tree. Search on the word “the” to see the tree with all of the talks. You subscribe or publish to one talk at a time. Anonymous users can read the conversations and see the votes. Authenticated users can also publish and vote. This is a first release. The initial target conference is PyDays Vienna being held this weekend. PyCon USA happens next week. So I still have two days to catch bugs and optimize performance. Comments are most appreciated.
