I know its narrow minded of me, but if Zope3 were targeted to run
on Java, I'd be *less* likely to use it.  Or perhaps let's say I'd
have to hold my nose while using it <grin>.

If Java rings your bell, work on it.  But I don't think you are
going to get much mindshare on this one, so I don't think it is a
realistic candidate for a strategy.  Even aside from that I don't
see anything about it that makes it a compelling reason to switch
to Zope3 from Zope2.  Speed (assuming that would be true) is not a
compelling reason for most people.  Having Java underneath buys you
nothing, otherwise, that I can see.

IMO the things that will be compelling for switching are the things
we've been talking about in other threads:  ease/speed of development,
cool new products, etc.
