Disappearing/eclipsing button icon

On the top left of my windows there is a black circle which indicates
minimization. Sometimes this circle goes missing. Well at the moment it
is eclipsed, i.e. I can see the bottom segment of it.

I also have a minimize button on the right of the window 4th from the
end which looks OK still.
