Man, that is a weeeeeird-ass menu, with weeeeeeird-ass rules for what
it shows...

Brought in the fix.  I reworked it a little, and pulled it out into a
func so we could add tests for it too.  Sure, randomly adding tests as
random features/fixes come in leaves us with some really bizarre test
coverage, but more is still better   :)
