Summer of Code: Student Applications being accepted....

Welcome Students!

Just wanted to drop everyone a note to let you know that the Student
Application period is in full swing.  Applications are being accepted
until Monday March 31st 5:00 PM PDT (00:00 UTC April 1, 2008).

The Google Summer of Code event offers $4500 in funding, to accepted
student participants, as a means to spend their summer collaborating in
FOSS projects.  If you or someone you know is interested, please visit
our Ideas Page at:

On this page you will find a wide variety of projects.  Students are not
limited to the projects on this page.  It is simply a set of example
projects we thought might be intriguing to a broad group of students.

Additionally you will see mentors listed for each project.  Feel free to
join us on Freenode channels #e or #edevelop to discuss the ideas with
the mentioned mentors.  Our mailing lists are also an acceptable means
of project discussion.

If you are interested in applying you should complete a proposal and
submit it to Google before the March 31 deadline.
