You could try adding the below as an environment variable to 
/etc/environment and playing with the settings/themes in qt5ct

export QT_QPA_PLATFORMTHEME=qt5ct


...it's fixed things for me in the past.  Sometimes it's only certain qt 
apps that have issues.
