no - it just will overwrite. if you haver the old build tree you can do:

sudo ninja uninstall

:) it will leave empty directories though but remove files.

but suffice to say i have never gone around doing this whenever i update and
install. i simple build and install on top. i may over time accumulate
older .so versions of libs or modules that are no longer used/needed but they
don't cause problems. symlinks are all updates on fresh installs and old
modules are just ignored by the new lib install.
