Yeah, I have noticed the slow down as well. I posted awhile about about 
that, but no one believed me ;).

When I play games or run glxgears in Flux, the performance is way lower 
than in KDE. I always thought that Flux was supposed to be a lite window 
manager, but it appears that KDE is a little liter with respect to 
gaming. However, even moving windows around in Flux is choppy and the 
smoothness that used to be there is gone. Not sure what is up with all 
that, but something is amiss...

For me, KDE is migh smoother and responsive now.
