This won't work. You can only "exec" something once in a shell script - 
the script will stop at that point and become whatever you "exec" instead.

So at GDM, you should use the "default" login session option, and then put 
this sort of stuff in ~/.xinitrc, or ~/.xsession:

#################################

  gkrellm -w &

  exec fluxbox

#################################

You can also use the apps file [startup] entry that someone else has 
suggested.
