Re: starting applications as fluxbox starts (was: fluxter -w upon startup)

here it goes my "elegant" startup trick, maybe other people adopt it too ;)

i know nothing about ubuntu and kdm, and didn't knew about startfluxbox
script neither ~/.fluxbox/startup but i just noticed that startfluxbox is
the one which runs ~/.fluxbox/startup and this file runs all apps and
fluxbox last. correct me if i'm wrong. but if this is the case, it seems you
need to start fluxter after fluxbox, not before.. i use fbpager and it was
on my ~/.xinitrc file and starting before fluxbox and it's odd but it was
working.. then i got sick of putting stuff on my .xinitrc and thought i
should have a script fluxbox would run itself as it starts..

so here it goes my trick
there's a ~/.fluxbox/apps file, which keeps application specific settings as
decorations, dimensions, position... but there's another thing you can do
with this file, you can start applications as fluxbox starts. so what i do
is add the following line to ~/.fluxbox/apps
[startup]     { ~/.fluxbox/startup.sh }
then i put everything i want fluxbox to do when it starts in
~/.fluxbox/startup.sh rather than starting it before fluxbox in the script
which runs fluxbox... yeah it's a trick but i think it's "elegant" this way,
imho it's better than putting a lot of [startup] lines in the apps file or
putting it all in ~/.xinitrc or ~/.xsession or even this ~/.fluxbox/startup
