window raising, focus model, etc

Got a sort of unrelated question...

I'm current using Konsole for my terminal emulator under fluxbox but
it's kind of heavy (although very nice) and I would like to try
something lighter that supports UTF-8 and tabbing. Is there anything out
there that doesn't depend on KDE libs and is just as feature-rich?
