UTF-8 and Fluxbox

Hi there,

I'm runninf the latest flux on Debian unstable. Now, I heard UTF support
had been extended, so I'd like to ask whether something I'm experiencing
is caused by misconfig, missing experimental patch or simply because it
hasn't been implemented yet.

I suppose the locale is important; mine is

So, let's take firefox: point to http://ru.wikipedia.org, which declares
charset=utf-8. Well, while firefox is able to render the fonts on its
tab, the window bar made by fluxbox just shows a bunch of  squares. The
same thing is true of other pages that declare the UTF charset, but not
of those that declare ISO, such as http://www.ist.utl.pt


Now let's take XMMS. While playing tracks whose tag I encoded with the
patched version of EasyTag (for proper UTF handling), or which I renamed
using a Unicode-able terminal, I lose every character after an accent or
such. In XMMS's playlist, the offending character is simply ommited. On
the other hand, tags encoded by Amarok (I honestly have no idea which
encoding is used), appear to render properly (as long no script other
than extended latin is used).

I'm a bit puzzled; would anyone care to comment?
