Fluxbox-1.0-rc2 and gimp-2.3.14 problems

Hi!

Is anyone out there using gimp-2.3.14 (or any gimp-2.3.x) with fluxbox-1.0-rc2?
(I'm using Gentoo). I've had, with recent versions of gimp, a problem which is
slowly driving me crazy... It's difficult to describe, but I'll try:

Sometimes, for example if I try to print a picture, if/when the windows overlap,
the print dialogue window and the actual picture window start to fluctuate very
rapidly and the processor use rises to 100%. It seems to me that the window
manager and gimp are fighting each other, the other tries to raise one window,
the other tries to raise another window etc forever.

Sometimes, again, some gimp windows stay at the bottom and cannot be raised, I
have to shade the windows on top to be able to access such windows.

In the gimp preferences there are some 'Window Management' settings, but these
doesn't seem to affect anything.

It seems that there's a severe conflict about the way fluxbox and gimp handle
the window layers, but honestly I don't know which one is the culprit here.
