It's now resolved.
(Note: I'm using Ubuntu)

sudo apt-get install auto-apt
sudo /usr/bin/auto-apt update
sudo /usr/bin/auto-apt updatedb
sudo /usr/bin/auto-apt update-local
/usr/bin/auto-apt run ./configure

which works fine now.
