Dear all I am very fond of fluxbox. My work is the kind of work that often gets interrupted, thus I wish to organize my workspace in this way: 1. I work on debugging an application on the first workspace. I name this workspace "debug application"; 2. But I am suddenly interrupted by a high priority task B, say, Mike wish me to get him an accounting sheet, I switch to the next workspace, name it "accounting sheet", and leave everything on "debug application" workspace just there. a.k.a. the debugger, editor, console etc I started for debugging, are left in the first workspace. I open "openoffice" on the "accunting sheet" workspace. 3. during making the accounting sheet, I found I need to send John an "account statement" in order to settle down a transaction, for which I need to look up 5 other documents. I switch to a new workspace and name it "about John" and open a lot of documents there and create an "account statement". 4. like this, I can open up to 8 workspaces for tasks that are stacking. This finally makes up a stack of tasks -- stack of workspaces. Each of them need their own set of application, like rxvt, openoffice, email software. Now I got a problem: I set automatical grouping for rxvt, openoffice and email compose window. So if I wish to start rxvt in "accounting sheet" workspace (probably just to launch 'bc' for some quick calculation), I found rxvt is opened in the first workspace "debug application". The same happens if I open an openoffice window in "about John" workspace, the applcation auto-grouped and started sitting in "accounting sheet" workspace. Is it possible to set autogroup, but force fluxbox to only group it in the same workspace? That would solve my problem. Thanks in advance! P.S. 1) I actually use rxvt-unicode and client-server of rxvt; 2) I am also trying to organize my work to avoid getting interrupted at all, in non-technical ways; -- Real Softservice Huateng Tower, Unit 1788 Jia 302 3rd area of Jinsong, Chao Yang Tel: +86 (10) 8773 0650 ext 603 Mobile: 135 9950 2413 http://www.realss.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by: Microsoft Defy all challenges.
