Well I had a long time ago, but I just tried to test this again
and it looks like calibre may have been fixed while I wasn't
looking :-).

I no longer see the drift on subsequent runs of the program
with either gravity setting. I guess I don't need my klunky
script to restore the saved geometry any longer.
