Agreed, I hardly ever use session management, other than when a bad
acting application locks and I have to kill both the application and
the session, in which case I wouldn't want to restart that app anyway.
On the other hand I usually have already added to my fvwm config file
the apps I want to autostart anyway.  If I don't want them at that
start I simply close them.

I think it most likely, because of the number of large development
houses actually pushing it like the RedHat, KDE, Enlightenment, and
Ubuntu developers.

Do you really consider FVWM a museum piece?  Why is there current
development going on for it then?  Maybe I should be looking at a
different WindowManager since I can't find a DE that's less than 300M
load on my lowly 4G Mem desktop.  KDE Plasma is going to be demanding
even more and GNOME for Slackware is also large.  XFCE is close but it
keeps borking on me after a number of power management suspends. (Maybe
a bad DBus connection?).
