Good to hear the UK government is getting on with it and offering to
younger folks. My wife's auntie (88 years old) only just received her
jab about a three weeks back.

Sorry I think I had a net split when you were writing that suggestion.

Well, this is interesting. If the config (I'm using the default
config) is modified in section #2 Styles to include a line "Style
*Chromium* Unmanaged" and a second line "Style *chromium-ungoogled*
Unmanaged" then indeed it will present pop-up.
(Remember I'm running chromium-ungoogled" not Chromium.)
BUT TWO NEW ISSUES OCCURS. With both lines set then Claws-Mail 3.17.7
(gtk2 application) won't show a window for the reply window,
as if Unmanaged is applied to all secondary windows. BUT if only setting
one, the border to mail replies re-appears. Second issue is that
chromium will present the Cast pop-up window, but unmanaged style means
no window border is created and I'm unable to re-sized or control the
position of the window, only close it. That is probably expected
behavior, since it is unmanaged, but the corners and sides present the
move arrows, they just have no effect. (I only did a "restart" not a
quit and startx if this affects window behavior?) But not usable.

True, they use closed source Google Chrome as the base, but the html and
other code wrappers are open source and available for review on their
web-site. I'm actually going to email Vivaldi developer Ruari Oedegaard
(who also uses Slackware) and ask him if he's ever seen this cast pop-up
issue.

When I open chromium without the unmanaged style setting. Then use
the window borders to make the wndow smaller and then use the
window handles to make it larger again the content doesn't expand back
to the larger window. The window border opens but the chromium content
remains reduced and the background image is presented where the
chromium content should be. I can correct this by minimize the
and maximize the whole window. Does that help explain better? Sorry if
I'm using the wrong terms sometimes.

Bug report 468 opened.

Thomas, you are always the gentleman.
Wish I could help diagnosis this more.

I also installed Microsoft Edge for Linux. The same results as with
chromium-ungoogled. Specifically, the "Cast to Devices" window opens
in all the other window managers, but will not get produced in FVWM.
Wish I had better news. BTW the Micrsoft version of chromium is
littered with unique acceptance messages for sharing information back
to Microsoft. So while I have it installed it will be only used for
testing. ;-)

I can't use chromium in unmanaged mode, because I often move browsers
out of the way when they come-up on the wrong screen. But I'll wait
and keep using Vivaldi for when casting is needed, otherwise move
on to chromium-ungoogled until a solution is found. Cheers. BrianA_MN
