Yes, I use to call FvwmIconMan from the StartFunction:

  DestroyFunc StartFunction
  AddToFunc StartFunction
  +  I Desk   0 0
  +  I Module FvwmButtons
  +  I Module FvwmIconMan
  +  I Test (Init) Exec exec stterm -f $[TERMFONT] -g 100x4-0-0

It starts on the corner of the desktop and starts showing windows, it
does not need to be placed in a task bar. I can send a screen image,
as it is running right now and showing some windows. 

Say cheese... Image is attached! You see that I am writing my email to
you and on the bottom left you see FvwmIconMan showing five windows.

My problem is, new windows that are opened do not show there. But it
does not seem to be related to a task bar (I suppose).

I may even start a few windows and then start a second IconMan. It
will show the new windows properly, but no newer ones.

Well, when it is started as a module it seems to appear quite happily.

I did read about Transient, but it seemed not to be the solution I
wanted (a window list always sitting on the corner), so I did not went
that way. Maybe I should investigate some more and maybe... just
maybe.

I would love to see how you use IconMan, as I am quite puzzled about
the behavior I am getting here. Please do send it!

I did post from a different address because I am a fool... in any
case, thank you for the reply and the suggestions! I'll try to reach
