Summary: icewm does´t type of the ` ´ ¨ ~ symbols, properly

Initial Comment:
The ` ´ ¨ ~ symbols are not properly typed, or not typed at all.

+ In Madedit text editor, in Firefox (in web pages), and in Xterm console, I have to press the key twice for the symbols to appear.
+ In Kwrite I also have to type them twice, but they appear as blank squares.
+ In Tremulous (Quake type game) the ` shortcut isn´t typed at all, so I am unable to start the console.
+ Entering a login code with the ` symbol in the Firefox or KDE password manager isn´t possible.

I had a similar problem with Gnome (not in KDE), but I don´t exactly remember how I fixed it. I think I changed the default keyboard layout, or something.

System:
Mandriva 2008.1
Icewm 1.3.1
Keyboard (hardware): GREEK

* (the ` symbol is the one in the top left of the keyboard)

Message:
This is not related to icewm in any way. Check your xkb config. It seems
you have deadkeys enabled.
