Category: icewm-1.3 Group: appearance Status: Open Resolution: Works For Me Priority: 4 Private: No Submitted By: Daniel Nagy (nagyd) Assigned to: Marko Macek (captnmark) Summary: dual-head vs maximized windows Initial Comment: Hello, Config: - Debian sid with icewm 1.2.17 - Dual-head X config with a laptop LCD + monitor - Taskbar is on the laptop LCD screen When I maximize a window on the monitor (no taskbar), it doesn't get fully maximized. There is a taskbar-sized empty row in the bottom. I assume that icewm reports the screen size incorrectly for the taskbar-less screen. Thanks, and keep up the good work! Daniel ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2009-04-19 17:19 Message: That fixed it. Thanks very much :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Marko Macek (captnmark) Date: 2009-04-19 16:52 Message: NVidia drivers don't support the latest XRandr. Use the new option (XRRDisable=1) to disable it's usage. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Sam Weston (samweston) Date: 2009-04-18 09:32 Message: Maybe this has re-broken because I am now running Xorg 1.6.1. Maybe the api for xinerama changed. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2009-04-17 21:56 Message: After receiving some emails saying some of my bugs had been fixed I recompiled and this bug has come back :( Thanks for the continued development though. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Sam Weston (samweston) Date: 2009-01-18 10:32 Message: I just rebuilt again today and it now appears to be working fine. Thanks :) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Marko Macek (captnmark) Date: 2009-01-18 10:04 Message: Make sure you have icewm buil't with Xinerama? Are you using Nvidia twinview? It works fine for me. (I also made a few more fixes in icewm-1.3 CVS) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Sam Weston (samweston) Date: 2009-01-06 15:10 Message: The problem doesn't appear to be fixed on my system. Everything still maximises across both screens. Here's my xrandr output. Screen 0: minimum 2048 x 768, current 2560 x 1024, maximum 2560 x 1024 default connected 2560x1024+0+0 0mm x 0mm 2560x1024 50.0* 2048x768 51.0 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Marko Macek (captnmark) Date: 2009-01-04 17:04 Message: I fixed several problems, can you try again. Can you also include your 'xrandr' output? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Sam Weston (samweston) Date: 2009-01-03 13:17 Message: When I compile from CVS (I think i'm doing it right) xinerama support seems to be completely broken (as if I've configured with --disable-xinerama). The taskbar spans both screens (which i actually prefer) but windows maximise across both screens as well (which I really don't). Here's what I'm running to install from cvs, I've never done it before but I'm following the instructions from the website and INSTALL file. cvs -d:pserver:[email protected]:/cvsroot/icewm login cvs -z3 -d:pserver:[email protected]:/cvsroot/icewm co -r icewm-1-3-BRANCH icewm-1.2 cd icewm-1.2 ./autogen.sh ./configure --enable-xinerama (only added this the second time) make sudo make install ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Marko Macek (captnmark) Date: 2009-01-02 18:13 Message: code added to fix this to icewm-1.3 CVS. Please test. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Sam Weston (samweston) Date: 2008-12-30 19:26 Message: Same issue. Just informing you of the continued existance of the problem (using the latest testing). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Date: 2005-05-23 04:21 Message: Logged In: NO I also have this problem ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Daniel Nagy (nagyd) Date: 2004-11-22 13:56 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=102763 Attached ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Marko Macek (captnmark) Date: 2004-11-19 18:49 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=1814 please attach output of 'xprop -root' command ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=100031&aid=1064663&group_id=31 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Stay on top of everything new and different, both inside and around Java (TM) technology - register by April 22, and save $200 on the JavaOne (SM) conference, June 2-5, 2009, San Francisco. 300 plus technical and hands-on sessions.
