Interested in joining the team

Denis Prost on the user mailing list says that the IceWM project hasn't really been maintained recently - no new releases in some time and still some unresolved bugs.

I can't take over the project, because I'm busy working on my Linux distro Swift Linux (http://www.swiftlinux.org).  Switching from an antiX Linux base to a Linux Mint Debian Edition base is proving to be very time consuming.

However, configuring IceWM for Swift Linux has greatly familiarized me with it.  There are several reasons I use IceWM instead of JWM or other lightweight window managers:
1.  As I said before, I know how IceWM works but am not that familiar with how the other WMs work.
2.  antiX Linux has successfully configured IceWM for years.  It's easier to reverse engineer an existing solution than to come up with new ideas.
3.  JWM doesn't seem to be as well-supported as IceWM.  IceWM has more documentation than JWM.  IceWM has mailing lists, but JWM does not.  
4.  Fluxbox isn't user-friendly to me.  I've tried antiX Linux with both IceWM and Fluxbox, and I think it's FAR easier to use with IceWM.

Something else that we should do is roll out a desktop environment (IceDE).  Let's face it - the DE market is greatly skewed towards the high end.  GNOME and KDE have served the upper end of the market for years.  The productive Linux Mint team is rolling out Cinnamon to appeal to GNOME 2 users and address the controversy over GNOME 3.  Xfce has served the middle of the DE market for years.  LXDE is lightest DE, but it's still heavier than IceWM + ROX.  Puppy Linux and antiX Linux have proven for years that it's possible to be user-friendly AND lightweight enough to work well on 10-year-old computers.

Innovation begets more innovation.  Without antiX Linux, there would be no Swift Linux.  Rolling out IceDE would encourage the development of more lightweight distros and DEs.
