It was obvious you came to this assumption by shell proxy, as they are the ones that "help" users by tweaking and twisting whatever you're typing before passing it to exec & co. Quotes disappear from "help" when and only when users *know* the rules, otherwise is just mindfuck. ;-) Please, let's just stop wasting more time with this non-issue, let's just agree IceWM it's not a shell, so don't expect any expansion/substitution whatsoever.
