Moin,

After having banned gnome from my computers for 10 years (due to slownes
and eating up most resources) and using icewm w/o any desktop enviroment
ever since, i wanted to give it another try.

Unfortunately, i do not seem to be able to figure out what the right
way to integrate icewm with gnome is. Everything i try leads to a different
set of problems. Most likely starting up metacity instead of icewm (although
the settings are "correct"), not imediatly exiting (ie icewm doesnt start)
or gnome not being run....

Thus i would like to ask, what is the recommended way to run gnome and icewm
together. Lets say, i have a fresh installed system (debian, ubuntu
or whatever) and installed the icewm packages. What would i need to do
to use icewm instead of metacity?

Thanks in advance
