launching application in workspace question

Hello:

when I launch an application in one workspace, before the application
is fully launched I switch to another workspace, then the launched
application shows up in the workspace I switched to. Is there a
parameter that disables this behavior? I want the application show up
in the workspace I launch it not the workspace I switched to.
