Problem with Reboot and shutdown commands

Hello List I'm having trouble with the "Logout / reboot" and "Logout / Shutdown" commands that appear in some themes. Nothing happens when I click on them. I have to do an Alt Ctrl F1 to get myself into another Login screen in order to logout. How do I fix that?
