I do not think so. It is interesting to watch the "industry" for few 
years. There are always a periods when great DEs like GNOME and KDE are 
making big waves and those small like IceWM, WindowMaker, fluxbox etc. are 
out of sight, then after some time, they get their place on the sun again.

IceWM is still well usable. While Marko may not be respoding fast ATM, so 
far he never left IceWM passing away.

Other way around - it is still open source, anybody can submit a patch or 
fork it. So there is always a hope. Last release was 2011-11-19. This is 
not that bad yet.
