I used your advice as Google search terms and came up here: https://www.linuxquestions.org/questions/linux-general-1/making-right-win-key-to-ctrl-524727/ This works in .Xmodmap: clear Control keycode 115 = Control_L keycode 116 = Control_R add Control = Control_L Control_R But the trick with this is you have to run the command from terminal in GUI after Ice is started: "xmodmap ~/.Xmodmap" *after* IceWM is going, because if you put it first in .xsession, Ice still somehow makes it not work. So, I have to do this every login.
