I have been using IceWM for many years on several different systems. But I recently have an issue that I don't understand. When I installed 64 bit vanilla Firefox 16.0.2 (from ftp.mozilla.org) on this 64 bit RHEL 6 system running 64 bit IceWM 1.3.7, there is no icon being used for it. I am just getting the generic "X" icon on the window decoration and task bar. But when I launch Firefox 6, I get the correct icon. Plus I get correct icons for all my other programs. When I use xprop I get the same results on both versions of Firefox: WM_CLASS(STRING) = "Navigator", "Firefox" The only difference between the two programs is that the process name of Firefox 6 is "firefox-bin" and the process name of Firefox 16 is "firefox". But I don't see what that has to do with anything. So I decided to try and manually specify an icon in winoptions (which I have done for a few programs in the past): Firefox.icon: /aom/icons/firefox.png Nope, I still get the correct icon for Firefox 6 and the generic "X" icon for Firefox 16. So I added a launcher in "menu" to see if that would make any difference and launched it from the menu: prog "Firefox" /aom/icons/firefox.png /aom/scripts/firefox1602run No change. More mysteriously, I am not even sure where iceWM is getting the successful icon for Firefox 6. When I swept through the system and moved or renamed anything I could find related to Firefox icons, it still correctly displays a Firefox icon on only Firefox 6. I don't understand how this is possible and I hope someone can help. This is a multiuser business system and the icon is actually quite important. Thanks for any ideas. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Everyone hates slow websites. So do we.
