Menus getting emtpy

Hi all,
as time goes by at least in Debian there do many programs not come with
menu files anymore ('menu' got deprecated).
Is there some possibility to use the .desktop files for the IceWM
menu, in a structured way (e.g. using the .desktop-categories as
menu-section)?
