And to conclude my monologue here, I want to note that there's
nothing specific to setfs about the '#filter' hacks I described
in the previous posting: they could be supported and implemented
by any traditional file system, or a higher level library or VFS
component -- even an additional indexing database service on top
of a traditional FS or SetFS -- although some filters may be most 
efficient to implement at the FS level. But lacking more general
support mechanisms for the filters, they can be implemented in
a SetFS fuse module for SetFS alone, but largely independently 
of the core functionality of SetFS.
