In general terms, it's whatever works to get novice users acquainted
with the concepts and operation of the software without introducing
terms or operations before the users are ready for them.

It's surprisingly difficult to write good tutorials, but I don't think
that means we should drop the idea.  It's completely orthogonal to
features such as Xinerama support.
