thankfully, the maintainer of the ion3 package on `macports' was able to upgrade it from 3ds-20060524 (which I used happily up to now) to 3ds-20070203, so I upgraded and adjusted to the changes in the config files etc. I know of the persistent problems with filling frames completely with xterms and such and that supposedly is a xterm problem, not ion's. I noted that with the old variant and with the new one, too. but what I noted now is, that when hitting mod1+<CR> the fullscreen window does, too, no longer extent all the way to the screen edges, but rather leaves a substantial rim where the X11 root screen is visible (I'd estimate 5-10 pixels?). that definitely was different with the old version which indeed occupied _everything_ in full screen mode. is the current behaviour intentionally? or is it a problem of the mac/osx/ x11 server? regards, joerg
