This does not actually answer your question, but did you consider
using rdesktop (http://www.rdesktop.org/)?  We were using the Citrix
ICA Client, too, but we switched to rdesktop several months ago and I
had no problems with it so far.

PS: I was using the ICA client from Citrix under Linux with ion with
no problem...
